Ocean Heart Group provides full management and treatment of Arterial and Venous Disorders. Vascular Care involves the medical management and surgical treatment of problems affecting circulation outside of the heart and brain, especially the legs, arms, neck and kidneys.
Book an AppointmentPAD is the medical condition where blockages form and narrow the arteries going to the legs, stomach, arms, and head. This can restrict circulation to these areas and severely damage them. If left untreated, the body part can become infected or die.
VTE is a blood clot in the vein (veins bring blood without oxygen to the heart to replenish oxygen supply). It’s related to two life-threatening conditions: Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE). A DVT is a clot that breaks free from a vein wall, and travels to the lungs, blocking all or some of the blood supply. This can result in a PE. A PE is a clot in the lung. Your best defense to these conditions is Early Diagnosis and Treatment
An aneurysm is a weakened or bulging area on the wall of an artery. An aortic aneurysm happens when this develops on the aorta (the main artery of the body). Some aortic aneurysms may be congenital (from birth) and others may occur as a result of aortic disease or an injury. Contributing risk factors are family history, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking.
We offer our patients two types of treatment options for their spider and varicose veins. Both of these treatments are performed on-site at our Ocean Heart Group Office.
Spider Veins are clusters of tiny superficial blood vessels that develop close to the surface of the skin. Varicose Veins are large, raised, swollen blood vessels that twist and turn and can be seen through the skin. Our Ocean Heart Group team of Interventional Cardiologists will determine the best treatment option for your spider and varicose veins.
A 70-year old with a family history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol leads a very active lifestyle that includes a lot of travel. She began noticing pain in both of legs and her lower back/ buttock region, especially while walking. She and her primary care physician thought it was a case of sciatica (radiating nerve pain). Her pain continued to worsen despite sciatica treatment. She was referred to Ocean Heart Group for a comprehensive vascular exam and evaluation. Her angiogram (imaging of her arteries) detected a narrowing and severe blockages in major arteries in both of her legs. Through a procedure involving balloon and stenting (Percutaneous Intervention), the blockages were “opened” so that blood flow was restored in those arteries. Post procedure, she experienced immediate relief from pain in her legs and lower back region – she was able to walk with “no limitations” and resumed her very active lifestyle!
